It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Debra Pulensky Drescher, Esq, to the position of Director of Legal Affairs, Compliance & Risk Management. Debbie will be joining Clarkson on Monday, August 6 and will be located at our Capital Region Campus. She will provide legal advice to management and act as liaison to the University’s outside legal counsel; review and negotiate business, real estate leases and research contracts; ensure that University policies, practices and documents are compliant with applicable laws and regulations; administer a sound risk management program to include the procurement of adequate property & casualty insurance coverages; work with brokers to recommend policy and procedures to reduce risk exposure; serve as building administrator at the Capital Region Campus; and will work on special projects as assigned.
Previously, Debbie held several positions with increasing levels of responsibility at the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), culminating in her most recent position as Managing General Counsel. Debbie was with Hiscock & Barclay LLP as an Associate Attorney and held a position within the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department in Albany, NY.
Debbie earned her JD at Albany Law School of Union University and her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena College.
