Clarkson University Named One of Forbes Top 25 STEM Colleges

Clarkson University has again been named one of Forbes’ Top 25 STEM Colleges for 2018. To put together the list, Forbes looked at the federal government’s College Scorecard’s database of schools where 50 percent of more students major in STEM subjects. Colleges and universities whose curricula emphasize STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—rank high on Forbes’ list of American’s Top Colleges.

Rankings are driven by graduate’s career success and salaries. A Clarkson graduate’s average earnings ten years after starting school is $68,000, more than $5,000 greater than the average for the overall top 100 schools on their national list.

The Top 25 STEM schools are concentrated in the Northeast, where there are 14, with six of them, including Clarkson, located in New York State.

Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and the health professions, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations, and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
