Opportunity to hire undergraduate Work-Study Research Assistants

All Clarkson faculty members,

Would you like to have a paid undergraduate research assistant to help with your project?

Clarkson University is pleased to announce the continuation of the Work-Study Research Assistant (WSRA) program in fall 2018 and spring 2019.  This program provides select Clarkson students with a valuable job on campus, while providing faculty members with support for their research.  WRSAs can assist with literature reviews, data collection and analysis, transcriptions of interviews, laboratory techniques, programing and computational methods, graphics and writing.

We anticipate funding up to 12-15 students for two semesters.  WSRAs typically receive minimum wage ($10.40), although under some circumstances they may be paid more, commensurate with qualifications and duties.

WRSAs are limited to a maximum of 12 hours per week during the regular semester, and a maximum of 150 hours per semester. The University will pay 75% of the student’s salary, while the faculty member is expected to pay the other 25% from his/her individual research funds.  In 1-2 special cases, and in disciplines where the faculty member(s) can make a case that external funding is rarely available, we may be able to pay 100% of the student’s salary.

Preference will be given to multidisciplinary collaborative projects.

Faculty members create a WRSA Position Announcement using a Google Form:
