Introduction to Aikido Classes, Sundays, 3-5 pm. 8 weeks, starting 9/30/18

Aikido, ‘The Way of Harmony’, is a martial art that teaches participants how to respond to conflict without resorting to force or more conflict; it teaches the strength to choose peace and harmony. Aikido develops body, mind and spirit and enhances fitness, grace and calm.

The emphasis on mutual respect fosters a supportive learning environment that promotes self-confidence and relaxation. No prior experience necessary.  Classes take place Sundays, 3-5 pm, in the Clarkson University Fitness Center Aerobics room on the (Potsdam) Hill campus. To participate, just come to the class wearing loose-fitting clothes, such as sweatpants and a t-shirt, no jewelry. If there is enough interest, we may also run a bokken (wooden sword) class Saturdays, 4-5 pm.

For questions or to express interest in the sword class, contact Sensei Leslie Russek at Lrussek@clarkson.edu.
