Participate in Microgrid simulator testing study

Dear students,

Engineering science student Mohammed Hossain is looking for people willing to participate in a research study to assess situation awareness of microgrid operators utilizing a power system simulator created by Everett Hall and Mohammed, working with Prof’s Ortmeyer and Martinez.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, must have completed or be currently enrolled in any power systems course (Energy Conversion, Power transmission and distribution,Power System Engineering,High-Voltage Techniques and Measurements), and must not be color blind. The purpose of this study is to determine/choose a better operator interface. The study takes place in the Power Systems Lab (CAMP 131) and will take about 1 hour. It will include training, and then the running of several realistic simulators.

We are looking for 30 students for this activity.  Those completing the exercise will receive $20.  We hope to complete this testing before the end of the semester.

If interested in participating in the study, please contact us via email hossaimm@clarkson.edu to schedule a session, or to get answers to any questions you might have.
