Clarkson Feeds Holiday Meal Serves Local Community

Recently, Clarkson Feeds held their annual holiday meal for the community at The Well, in Colton, NY. The group served about 40 people a hot meal and donated necessities to families and gave out gifts to kids attending the meal, as well as foster families in the area.

This year the group teamed up with Helping Hands and collected donations from the various health sciences programs, as well as outside sponsors. The group had seven cars packed full of donations. Community members came for a church service and a hot lunch, and were able to take home some of the clothing and food that were donated.

Due to the large number of donations, The Well and Helping Hands will be distributing items during the week and weekends to help any community members or Clarkson students who are in need.

The goal of Clarkson Feeds is to help solve food insecurity in the North Country. The goal is to minimize food waste generated on campus by feeding the Potsdam community with food that would otherwise be disposed of.
