Making an Appointment at the Writing Center

Schedule an Appointment

We schedule 30 minute appointments through Google Calendar.  (The process is slightly different this year.) You may go directly to this link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/selfsched?sstoken=UUFJLTBMRkhfRndufGRlZmF1bHR8ZmJlN2Y3ZWNiYjYwZmQ4NzQzZDdhOTM4ZTM1NzFlZDI

You can also get to the appointment link through our website “Writing Center” aka CUWRITE on the Intranet by going to the Appointments tab.  Our website can be found through Intranet>Quick Links>Additional Links>Students>Writing Center OR directly through this UR:. https://sites.clarkson.edu/cuwrite/appointments/

You can also email wcenter@clarkson.edu.  The auto-responder will take you to the link to the appointment calendar.
Walk-ins are welcome if a tutor happens to be available.

What Happens at the Appointment
The Writing Center is the place to go to talk through an assignment, to get a critical reading on content and organization or to brush up on some writing tools, such as the use of commas and sophisticated transitions.  At the Writing Center, we don’t talk about getting a higher grade on a paper, we talk about what the reader gets, or doesn’t get, through reading the paper. The readers are undergraduate peers. They are trained to be collaborative and not prescriptive.  They do not ‘teach writing,’ and they don’t ‘fix’ papers. They are sounding boards and coaches. You can find out more about our mission on our Website.
Students who make appointments at the Writing Center should bring a paper copy or a laptop/google doc.
