“Representation of Minorities in Media”

The Clarkson Intercultural Ambassadors (CIA) is inviting the members of your organization to a tea time on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 5 – 6 pm in the Diversity and Inclusion Lounge under the topic: “Representation of Minorities in Media”.

This is in response to the critical acclaim of Parasite, the first foreign-language film to win an Oscar for Best Picture. Also, there has been ongoing controversy regarding the representation of minorities (racial, ethnic, LGBTQ+, etc) in film and media, especially as it regards to what is deemed as tokenistic representation.
FYI, tea time is an event put on monthly by the Diversity and Inclusion Office where we discuss contemporary events and issues in a relaxing and safe environment. People of varying beliefs and backgrounds are welcomed.
We are seeking to invite members of the College Democrats, College Republicans, Professional Societies, The Film Club, and members of faculty who have expertise in this topic.
Refreshments including tea and snacks will be provided!

Please see the attached flyer. Don’t be afraid to share. Thank you very much for your future support.
yours sincerely, Peter-John King
