Clarkson University Featured in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools

Clarkson University is again featured in the 2021 edition of Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report, with strong performances by several programs.

U.S. News & World Report, in its 2021 edition of the rankings “assesses multiple types of graduate programs, including the six disciplines with some of the largest enrollments: business, law, medicine, nursing, engineering and education.”

Within these broad disciplines, U.S. News adds new specialties from time to time to make these rankings more complete. Notably, this year Occupational Therapy was added. Clarkson’s OT program was included in the rankings at 157.

“Both our research-focused and professionally oriented degrees help students advance knowledge and contribute to society, all while building meaningful careers,” said Graduate School Dean, Dr. Kerop Janoyan. “I’m glad that the U.S. News graduate rankings for Clarkson reflect the quality we know characterizes everything we offer.”

Information collected within the six major disciplines assesses how well universities prepare students for their professions, as well as the career or academic outcomes of its graduates, according to the publication.

A highlight for Clarkson this year is the graduate MBA program ranking in the top 90.

“We are thrilled that the U.S. News & World Report ranking recognized the excellence of the Reh School of Business,” noted Interim Dean Augustine Lado. In addition to the residential program ranking, U.S. News & World Report ranked Clarkson University’s online MBA program as one of the top-100 in the nation earlier this year. The report also ranked Clarkson in the top-70 best online business graduate programs (non-MBA) in the nation for 2020.

Among other rankings of note: the overall graduate engineering program is in the nation’s top 140, the physician assistant program ranks in the top 95 in the country and the PT program in the top 140.

Graduate education at Clarkson University provides a high degree of collaboration within its rigorous research and learning opportunities. The School of Arts and Sciences, The David D. Reh School of Business, Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering, The Institute for STEM Education, and the Institute for a Sustainable Environment provide programs of study leading to the master of business administration, master of arts, master of engineering, master of science, master of arts in teaching, master of arts in teaching English to speakers or other languages, doctor of philosophy, and doctor of physical therapy degrees.

Clarkson offers distance learning graduate study opportunities in business, engineering, science and technology through a unique model, where faculty engage students through a balance of real-time and self-directed collaborative learning. They also employ both online resources for projects and on-campus experiences for immersive involvement.
