Public Transit Rides Available for Students from Arc of St. Lawrence County

Dear Students,

In the interest of public health, the St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health has directed that public transit services temporarily decrease routes to reduce bus service to a number of venues including the four local colleges. As a result, the Clarkson University shuttle bus has been temporarily suspended and new services are in place to accommodate student needs.

The transportation company, the Arc of St. Lawrence County, is providing a service where on-campus and undergraduate and graduate students in the local community can schedule a ride with Public Transit by filling out this online form. They will transport people to and from grocery stores, medical appointments or prescription pickups and their places of employment between Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.

If students would like to request for groceries or restaurant pick-up to be delivered to their home, they can schedule this service by calling the Public Transit Dispatch Center at 315-386-2600. Please note that any food or prescription deliveries must be paid for prior to delivery.

The Arc of St. Lawrence County requests that prior to your ride, you wash your hands per the CDC guidelines–and know that the drivers are following appropriate disinfecting/hand washing protocols.

We value your safety and your patience through these challenges. Please contact Jeff Taylor or Kristen Avery with any questions, concerns, and/or feedback on this service.
