Restart–Employees Returning to Campus to Work

Over the last several weeks, Human Resources and Environmental Health & Safety, along with several other departments, have been working to create a comprehensive plan to welcome employees back to campus in a phased approach and in accordance with New York State guidelines. Several components need to be in place to ensure Clarkson continues to provide a safe campus.  Employees will be contacted by their managers when they are able to return to work. Employees will be contacted by their managers when they are able to return to work. If you are able to return to work, managers will review the new implemented procedures that must be followed.

There are Four Phases to reopening the State. The North Country has been approved to enter Phase One – Return of Construction and Manufacturing, and we continue to monitor and prepare for Phase Two – Return of Professional Services and Administrative Support.  For more information on Reopening New York State please visit:  https://forward.ny.gov/industries-reopening-phase

Until further notice, all employees approved to be on campus must enter and exit through the Foster House entrance. Employees will be required to complete training upon their return to review necessary actions and expectations while on campus to allow us to provide a safe working environment and decrease the potential of exposure/transmission of COVID-19.

Among these expectations, the following must be adhered to by all employees who are permitted to enter campus and must be followed daily.

  • Individuals must take their temperature daily at home, before reporting to work.
  • Individuals must complete Clarkson’s daily COVID-19 employee screening questionnaire prior to the start of your shift. This can be done by:
    • Using the following link: https://forms.gle/XD9LyTnzaB9swi9q9
    • Scanning this QR code, which will be posted on the entrance to each building; or
    • Calling Human Resources (315-268-6497) during business hours or Campus Safety & Security (315-268-6666) during after hours.
  • Social distancing, which includes maintaining 6 feet between you and others, must be practiced whenever feasible.
  • Face coverings that meet CDC guidelines and cover the nose and mouth are required any time you are not able to maintain 6 feet clearance from another individual.
    • Clarkson will be issuing all employees 2 cloth face masks upon their return.

In addition, employees may not report to work or enter any building if:

  • You have symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as a temperature of 100.4°F or greater, cough, trouble breathing, or otherwise feel ill.
  • You  have been near anyone diagnosed with or suspected of having the COVID-19 coronavirus.
  • You have traveled outside the North Country (Clinton County, Essex County, Franklin County, Jefferson County, Lewis County, Hamilton County and St. Lawrence County) in the last 14 days.
  • You have not been approved to return to work yet.
