CURE ’20: Make Some NOISE

All members of the Clarkson faculty and staff community seeking successful pathways to research, scholarly and instructional goals with an emphasis on development of STEM Ed are encouraged to attend Clarkson’s Unconference Refresh Event – CURE 2020!

CURE returns after its 2019 inaugural event with a renewed focus of being a catalyst for planning and solution discovery in a series of live Zoom meetings each Monday this June (and one in July).

CURE participants will break out into small group discussions to apply the Needs, Opportunities, Improvements, Strengths, and Exceptions (NOISE) analysis model to the toughest issues facing today’s instructional environment.

CURE will use the following major course categories for participants to self select into small group discussions giving opportunity to address issues relevant to them:

  1. Freshman year experience courses (Univ190, ES100, etc)
  2. Large introductory lecture + recitation
  3. Mid size lecture-focuses courses
  4. Midsize boardwork problem-solving courses,
  5. Lab courses
  6. Smaller discussion-focused courses
  7. Group project courses
  8. Other

CURE’s goal is for participants to lead a discovery of the NOISE conditions which aim to uncover solutions for inside and outside the classroom as we collectively prepare to leave business as usual behind and return to the reimagined classroom this Fall.
