July 29 – USDA Food Distribution

Community Members,

Please read this message carefully as we have changed our food distribution process.

On Wednesday, July 29, SUNY Potsdam will serve as a distribution site for the USDA Coronavirus Farmers to Families Food Box Program. SUNY Potsdam follows all USDA guidelines for serving as a distribution site. This program provides free boxes of dairy, produce, and meat to anyone who needs access to food resources.

We realize that there are a lot of families who are in need during these unprecedented times. However, to ensure that everyone in our Potsdam Community is given equal opportunity please DO NOT arrive early to campus. This week’s distribution is again on a first-come, first-serve basis and we will have 270 numbers to distribute this week beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Vehicles should only enter on Barrington Drive from Pierrepoint Avenue/Route 56. Each vehicle will be given a pre-assigned number and then directed into the distribution waiting area. We will only distribute one number per vehicle. A sign will be posted at the Barrington Drive entrance indicating the distribution is closed for the day.

As a reminder, individuals must remain in their vehicles throughout the duration of the process and be wearing a mask. Drivers who are not wearing a mask will not be allowed in the distribution site. Vehicles must have space to hold the appropriate number of food boxes safely.

Sincerely,
