Instructor Reminders for Successful Fall Start-Up

In these final few days before class begins for the Fall 2020 term, the Office of Information Technology’s Teaching & Learning Corner offers the following important reminders to help course instructors reach a successful start:

Show your Moodle course so students can see it in their Moodle. When you Show your course in Moodle, students are able to confirm their enrollment and can access any pre-term information you wish to convey. Instructors may elect to show only portions of course content while leaving the remaining sections hidden until ready. More about Show your Moodle course along with other helpful Semester Start Up info and links.

Request Echo 360 lecture capture through the Faculty Center if you wish to record in-classroom sessions with Echo. Here’s how.

Dell 2-in-1 pen enabled touchscreen laptops available to instructors teaching online through OIT’s Technology Loaner Pool program. The Dell 2-in-1 is ideal for digitizing handwritten notations useful when creating screen share recordings and providing feedback on student assignment submissions. Not suited for use during in-classroom, face-to-face instruction. Supplies are limited, terms do apply. Available on a first come, first serve basis. If you believe you would benefit from participating in this program, view our Technology Loaner Pool program information page and submit a request through the form linked there.

In Classroom trial runs are encouraged. If you are teaching in a classroom this term, you are welcome to stop in to try the technology out before classes begin. Classrooms are operational from a technology perspective, with the exception that some of the new temporary classrooms are finalizing technology installations this week.

Send email roomreservations@clarkson.edu to place a room reservation.

Send email helpdesk@clarkson.edu with location and date/time to schedule a test recording with Echo.
