SAS Services for Fall 2020

The start of the semester brings a significant amount of student traffic into SAS with respect to adding and dropping courses, resolving holds, paying bills, and requesting refunds. The majority of these can, and should, be handled remotely.

Any documents that need to be brought to SAS can be dropped off in the drop-box located outside the Graham Hall entrance on the Student Center side of the building. All documents should include the student’s name, and ID number! The drop-box will be emptied three times each day. 

To Add and Drop courses: 

The primary method of adding and dropping classes should be electronic. Continuing students should use the Enroll in Fall 2020 Classes tile to modify their class schedule. New students, students with holds, or students who are having difficulty modifying their schedule independently should submit the electronic Add/Drop Form through the Enroll in Fall 2020 Classes tile on  myCU. 

If it is not possible to submit the schedule change electronically, students can: 

  • Submit a PDF add/drop form to registrar@clarkson.edu. Forms must include the student’s signature, and the academic advisor’s signature in order to be valid. If a time conflict or other issue exists, the student should seek the course instructor’s signature as well. 
  • Drop a hard-copy add/drop form in the SAS drop-box which is located outside the entrance of Graham Hall on the Student Center side of the building. The drop box will be checked periodically throughout business hours. Students will be contacted via email if their form is incomplete or if other issues arise.

If students are unable to complete schedule changes independently and want individualized help, they may attend open access hours online, or schedule a meeting with your SAS Rep (contact info at the end of this announcement).

To pay your fall 2020 bill, or add money to your account:

It is strongly recommended to pay by electronic check (aka ACH) through Nelnet. Watch this video tutorial if you aren’t sure how to do that.

Please be sure to endorse the back of the check if it has been made out in your name.

You can also place checks in our lockbox located outside of Graham Hall and we will email you a receipt.  

To add funds to your declining balance: Please email studentfinancials@clarkson.edu with the following information (specify “declining balance” in the subject line): 

  • Your full name
  • Your student ID number
  • The amount you would like added

You can pay for the amount added through your Nelnet account, as the charge will be added to your student account balance.

To add funds to your Knight Card:  Please email studentfinancials@clarkson.edu with the following information (specify “Knight Card” in the subject line): 

  • Your full name
  • Your student ID number
  • The amount you would like added

To request a credit balance refund:

If you have an anticipated credit balance on your student account, we may authorize an advance refund up to $1000 (if your anticipated credit is $1000 or greater) during the first four weeks of classes. Please email (from your Clarkson email account) studentfinancials@clarkson.edu with the following information: 

  • Your full name
  • Your student ID number
  • The amount to be advanced (refunded)
  • Your preferred delivery method
  • Your secondary delivery method

Delivery methods include direct deposit, or a check mailed to your home address, local address, or campus address.
