Michael Sacks Appointed Assistant Professor of Economics & Financial Studies at Clarkson University

Michael Sacks has been appointed assistant professor of economics & financial studies in the Reh School of Business at Clarkson University.

He received his Ph.D. in economics and his master of arts degree in social science (mathematical behavioral sciences) from University of California, Irvine, and his bachelor of science in economics from Towson University.

Sacks’s research interests are in game theory, industrial organization, innovation economics, social dynamics, and the economics of culture and religion.

He has published work on competition between open source and proprietary software, strategic alliances in nonprofit organizations, and on education, identity, and community in journals like Journal of Management Information Systems, B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, and Public Choice.

Previously, Sacks was a visiting assistant professor at University of Louisville and West Virginia University.
