Campus Fitness Centers Reopening Soon

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clarkson University Fitness Centers will be operating under the interim guidance for gyms & fitness centers provided by the New York State Department of Health. Detailed guidelines and the operational procedures can be found as an addendum to the University’s reopening plan that was submitted to the State and can be found here Gyms and Fitness Center detailed guidelines   The fitness centers will be opening soon (Deneka and Yianoukos), and then we will phase in the fieldhouse and the pool in the near future.  Once our reservations system is up and running we will send out more detailed information on how to access and book reservations. Below is some basic information that everyone should be aware of and will need to adhere to in order to use the facilities.

Must have a reservation

  1. No Walk-ins
  2. Must check-in/out

Must wear a mask at all times

  1. For individuals who are unable to medically tolerate an acceptable face covering, individuals must wear a face shield at all times
  2. Bandanas, buffs, vented/valved masks and gaiters are not acceptable face coverings for use in gyms and fitness centers
    1. You will not be permitted into the facilities if you aren’t wearing acceptable face coverings

Must answer COVID screening questions

Must have Clarkson ID

Must come dressed with a change of shoes

Must follow all rules and posted signage

  1. 6ft social distancing, directional traffic, cleaning, etc

No locker room access

No water fountains

  1. Only bottle refill stations are open

In the next few days you will receive an email from Clarkson University that will take you through how to create an account for the reservation system. After you accept the invitation you will be taken to a page to create an account that will allow you to start reserving space at the fitness centers. After you create your account you can download the  MemberMe+ app, search for Clarkson University in the “Search Club” search bar and use the app to make reservations.   Please note that reservation blocks are for 90 minutes, and you can come at any point during your reservation block.  We did this to help accommodate for academic class schedules.
