Clarkson University’s Fall 2020 Recognition Day Postponed to Spring 2021

As the Clarkson community and the rest of the region and State continue to move forward, we are monitoring and following the guidance from local, New York State (NYS) and federal representatives to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With NYS directives on gathering sizes still not to exceed 50 people and the need for families to make plans surrounding the Fall semester recognition day for those students completing their degrees, we are postponing all commencement exercises until Spring 2021. This was a difficult decision as the Clarkson community is diligently working together on the successful implementation of the Fall semester reopening plan. We very much want our students to experience a full graduation celebration with their peers, friends, families and faculty coming together.

Students who would have participated in the fall ceremony that had been scheduled for November 24 can select the May or June ceremonies instead.  Updates can be found at https://www.clarkson.edu/parents-family/commencement-ceremonies

For those who cannot attend in-person on the Potsdam campus in May or in person in the Capital Region in June 2021, the graduation ceremony will be live-streamed in May. Those who selected to participate in the fall ceremony will be included in the May or June ceremonies unless they notify event organizers at commencement@clarkson.edu.

Due to NYS directives and guidance, our planned October commencement ceremonies for Clarkson’s Capital Region Campus were also postponed to June 2021.
