As we informed the Potsdam campus community late last night, three members of the Clarkson community have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been relocated for required isolation purposes.
After administering over 40 rapid tests yesterday evening to the most obvious close contacts, no further positive cases were identified. Based on contact tracing by St. Lawrence County Public Health, 20 individuals have been placed in quarantine per NYS protocols and additional students are in precautionary quarantine while Public Health officials continue to do additional tracing and assessments. Additional individuals may be placed into precautionary quarantine.
Everyone should be vigilant in following all health and safety protocols. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, do not participate in campus activities/classes and contact Campus Safety at 315-268-6666, who will connect you 24/7 with the appropriate resource for evaluation and testing.
There will be another update later today. In the interim, keep wearing a mask over your nose and mouth; social distance, practice good hygiene and ask your community to join you in protecting each other.
