Opportunity to participate in biometric research as a subject

Dr. Stephanie Schuckers, Clarkson University, is performing biometric research and is looking for subjects willing to participate in the study titled ‘Performance and Security of Multimodal Biometrics’. This research involves the collection of fingerprints; all images will be collected over a series of 2 visits with standard biometric devices or devices made from commercially available components. In addition, fingerprint molds will be taken; this involves placing your fingers into a soft casting substance and waiting 5-10 minutes until it hardens. This study takes approximately 40 minutes for the first session and 20 minutes for the second session. The collected data is stored in the form of media files and impressions taken on the impression materials. The images collected will be used to build a dataset of images that will be used to test algorithms and help to improve biometric performance and security.

We are located in Camp Annex (CA2211). If you choose to participate, upon the completion of your 2nd visit, you will be compensated with$40. Refusal to participate or decide to discontinue participation at any time will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.

The collection for this study would be performed with strict adherence to the social distancing and Covid-19 safety protocols of Clarkson University and IRB.

This biometric collection protocol has been approved through the Clarkson Institutional Review Board (IRB). Approval # 20-36. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Contact information for the Clarkson Institutional Review Board: irb@clarkson.edu

If you are over 18 years and interested to participate, please email at “purnaps@clarkson.edu“, Our scheduler will respond back to you to set up an appointment.
Thank you.    Team CITeR
