Enrollment Now Open for “Designing and Communicating Innovation” Course

Clarkson Ignite is excited to announce a new, one-credit hybrid course in support of this year’s President’s Challenge. In this course, cross-listed as COMM150/IGN120: “Designing and Communicating Innovation,” you’ll learn skills to succeed in developing innovative ideas, creating prototypes with methods such as 3D printing in the Dorf Makerspace, shooting and editing a pitch video in the Digital Making Suite, and writing a winning business plan–all requirements for participating in the President’s Challenge.

While participation in the President’s Challenge is not required for this course, it is strongly recommended; your entire team can enroll in the class or just one or two members. This hybrid style class meets Tuesday and Thursdays from January 26-March 30 from 4:05 – 5:20 with some days off while you’re working.

The course will be team-taught by faculty in Communication, Media & Design, Writing Center staff, Ignite Maker Mentors, and Ignite Digital Mentors.

Enrollment is available now and if you’d like to attend the Zoom kickoff session on January 26 before enrolling, let us know. If you’d like to add the class after the open enrollment period ends, we can manually add you if you haven’t missed more than the first few classes. Email Professor Johndan Johnson-Eilola johndan@clarkson.edu or ignite@clarkson.edu for more information.
