Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) and Center for Power Systems Presents on Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act

Please join Clarkson’s Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) and the Center for Power Systems at 1:30 on the afternoon of February 18 to learn more about the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (2019) and the research opportunities we expect from this new State law. New York State is among our Nation’s leaders in setting aggressive goals to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and the CLCPA is setting a bold energy and energy research agenda for the next couple of decades.
Increasing our renewable electricity generation and electrifying the state (e.g., EVs and heat pumps) will require a new approach to our electricity transmission, distribution, and storage systems; suitable policies to move us towards these goals; better technologies for renewable electricity generation and efficiency; and, education and community engagement to get us there. Transdisciplinary academic research will be an essential part of this.

On February 18 we will discuss the research opportunities we expect from this new State law. Dave Crudele, from NYSERDA’s Smart Grid team will kick the meeting off, followed by time for us all to share ideas of where these opportunities fit our own research interests and breakout rooms for follow up research team exploration. Please see the flier below for additional details and add this Zoom to your calendar
