Faculty Research Reminders and Notifications

• Thanks to everyone attending the Counterintelligence & Export Controls Information Briefing last week. Unfortunately due to the agency’s restrictions we were unable to record the session.  We have asked if they could provide us some material that could be shared across the campus and will work with them on this and provide this to faculty and staff once it is received.   

• Clarkson Team Science Initiative – As an expert in Team Science and currently president-elect for the International Network for the Science of Team Science, Dr. Steve Fiore will be presenting an information session on Team Science for faculty.  SRS, in partnership with the Internal Research Advisory Committee and the Development and Alumni Relations Office, is currently preparing to release a new internal strategic research pilot award to carry out research applying Team Science here at Clarkson.  Team Science is defined as “a collaborative effort to address a scientific challenge that leverages the strengths and expertise of professionals trained in different fields” (NCI, 2019).  This information is in preparation for an upcoming announcement requesting faculty interest in proposing internal investment in a Team Science collaboration plan and research roadmap.

• Next SRS Coffee Hour: At the next coffee hour the Tools & Training Working Group of the internal Research Advisory Committee (RAC) will review the proposed redesign of the SRS intranet site and seek input of faculty members.   Additional updates will be provided on the Team Science initiative, University Academic Space Committee, and other items as time permits.
