Golden Knights,

Positive Case and Quarantine Updates: We have five new positive tests results reported to us today with none of these individuals attending in person classes in over two weeks and inclusive of individuals already in mandated public-health quarantines off campus. All routine surveillance testing in Cheel of employees and students came back with negatives.  With these results, the University Care Team Members are now supporting 51 students both on and off-campus with an active case status and 104 who remain in public-health mandated quarantine both on and off campus.  Please live Clarkson’s value of diligence and abide by Clarkson’s red level guidance:  do not engage in small or large social gatherings, use contactless pickup if you need to engage with community businesses, continue to diligently wear masks over mouth and nose in all public settings, and have frank conversations with your roommates and housemates to abide by the same protocols by not extending the family unit.

Resuming In Person Instruction:  We will resume lecture classes in person tomorrow and lab courses will continue with the additional masking protocols in place.  Faculty will provide further information for any changes in these plans for individual courses.

Fitness Facilities Begin Phased Return:  As shared yesterday, we know the importance of physical activity and recreation. The warmer winter weather is great for outdoor cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.  Starting on Wednesday, we will open the Yianoukous Fitness Center in the Cheel Campus Center & Arena for the remainder of the week with limited capacity.  As we together demonstrate reduced case loads, we will open Deneka Fitness Center.  Please book your appointments on the Fitness Center app.

Loading Test Results in MYCU for those returning from Off-Campus Precautionary Self-Quarantine: All students who returned home during the precautionary self-quarantine were requested to submit a travel form and then test before returning.  If you are unable to upload your negative COVID-19 test result to myCU, please email studentaffairs@clarkson.edu  Your request will be taken care of ASAP and you will then be able to upload your results under the myCU Tasks & Holds.  Do not attend class until cleared.

Please keep completing the daily screening tool in your routine, wearing a mask over nose and mouth, practicing social distancing and using good hand hygiene. If you have any questions about this communication, please contact clarksonhr@clarkson.edu, (employees)  studentaffairs@clarkson.edu (students) and/or me.
