  • Going to Orange “Light” today

  • Vaccination Sites

Potsdam Campus Community,

Thanks to the diligent efforts of all members of our community — and especially our students who have been living through multiple quarantine phases — we are heading in the right direction with our COVID-19 caseload and recreating the bubble.  It takes everyone to keep following the health and safety protocols — in particular during gatherings with persons outside of your ‘family unit’ roommates/ housemates.

We are moving to “Orange Light” effective today to phase back into more in-person activities.  These measures are also consistent with NYS guidelines still in place which limits gathering sizes through March 22.  We will continue to expand activities based on continued progress towards reducing active cases among the University community members.

Clarkson Level II – Orange Light

Student Guests in the Family Unit

  • A family unit consists of students who are assigned to the same room, suite, or apartment.
  • During Orange Light, up to two student guests at a time are permitted in the family unit and they must reside on the same floor as the student/room they are visiting.
  • When any individual not part of the family unit is present in the family unit, all parties are required to wear a face mask.
  • On & Off Campus Fraternity & Sorority Housing- Due to the number of residents / occupants, members and students not residing in the home are not permitted at this time.
  • Students who are fully taking classes as remote students are considered an off-campus guest and are not considered a student guest.  They should not be on campus.

Student Organizations

  • Gatherings, both on- and off-campus, must be registered and approved on Knight Life and must adhere to the safety standards set forth by the University.

Vaccination and Quarantine Requirements

We are hearing in NYS and from our St. Lawrence County Public Health representatives that proof of complete vaccination will soon mean that you do not need to quarantine if you are 14 days post your double or single dose COVID-19 vaccinations, depending on which you have received, and may allow for exemption from quarantine for up to 90 days, as long as you remain asymptomatic. One would still need contact SLC DOH for them to verify your vaccination status, for the final clearance at this time. We are waiting for the links to share with the campus to confirm all updates on quarantine.

Vaccination Appointment Information
