COVID-19 Read: No New Cases. All in person student workers /employees now eligible for vaccine in NYS.

In this communication:

  • Positive Case & Quarantine Update
  • All in person college workers eligible for vaccine in NYS

Golden Knights,

Positive Case & Quarantine Update:  We have no new cases to report.  University Care Team Members are currently supporting five students with active cases of COVID-19 and 40 students completing mandatory quarantines on and off campus.

Vaccination Eligibility Expanded & Appointment information: The state’s vaccination guidance has been updated to include “In-Person College Faculty and Essential In-Person Staff” (see page 10 here). This change means that all employees who are working in-person are now eligible for vaccination. Note that the state’s Am I Eligible website for scheduling appointments does not yet reflect this update as of 6pm today but we anticipate it will be done soon. Appointments can also be scheduled by calling the state’s hotline, 1-833-697-4829. Employees/student workers will be required to show proof of eligible employment which can take the form of an employee ID, pay stub, or letter from their employer.

The NYS Mass Vaccination site at SUNY Potsdam still has appointments available as do many other location in NYS.  Based on the eligibility criteria, you can make an appointment at https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/  and then complete an attestation form https://forms.ny.gov/s3/vaccine  to take with you to the appointment.   The St. Lawrence County Website also has vaccination clinics with appointments posted at https://www.stlawco.org/Departments/PublicHealth/COVID-19Vaccine

Contact Schenectady County for appointments there at https://www.schenectadycounty.com/COVID19/vaccine

Please note this expansion does not apply to anyone who is working 100% remotely. However, you may be eligible under another category. We encourage individuals to check their body mass index (BMI) as that is one of the eligibility criteria. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has an online BMI calculator.
