COVID-19 Read: NYS Just Announced All-In Person University Staff for Vaccine Eligibility

Clarkson Employee Community,

Today, the New York State Department of Health has updated its COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to include all in-person, essential staff at all colleges and universities, effective immediately. The NYS DOH COVID-19 Vaccine Program guidance includes all campus staff who are currently working in-person, regardless of job title or job function.

You can sign up here to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at any State or Local Health Department operated vaccine site.   There are hundreds of appointments available even today at the NYS vaccination site at SUNY Potsdam and you can register online. We understand they are updating the Website with the latest categories  – contact HR at 315-268-6497 if questions. There are also appointments available at the Gouverneur Community Center tomorrow and Ogdensburg Golden Dome on Friday, March 12.

Please note this expansion does not apply to anyone who is working 100% remotely. However, you may be eligible under another category. We encourage individuals to check their body mass index (BMI) as that is one of the eligibility criteria. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has an online BMI calculator.

Once you have received both vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) or your single vaccine (Johnson & Johnson), please provide Clarkson with your vaccine documentation (https://intranet.clarkson.edu/peoplesoft/  – HR, click vaccine proof, upload photo of vaccine record). We believe it is important to have employees provide this information to Clarkson because, based on conversations with our local medical experts regarding in-person activities, this information is useful in these deliberations. Your vaccination information will not be shared with anyone except HR.
