Clarkson’s 125th Anniversary Year

Clarkson Community,

It was this week 125 years ago that the Thomas S. Clarkson Memorial School of Technology welcomed in Old Main on our downtown campus its first freshman class of eight men and four women, and a college preparatory class with five men.

The founders – Thomas S. Clarkson’s three sisters, Lavinia, Frederica and Elizabeth, and his niece, Annie – chose to make the formal dedication of our institution on November 30, 1896, the birthday of the late namesake. Through Clarkson’s ongoing evolution to excellence, we continue to live, learn and ignite innovation as part of the vision the founders had to honor a beloved pioneering entrepreneur and humanitarian by always seeking out the real needs of the American people.

Throughout the year and with an added celebration on November 30 this year, we will be sharing more about Clarkson’s history as well as the stories that honor our past and shape our future.

Please look for these logos that will be shared with examples of our history. Feel free to include them in your own social channels with #Clarkson125 as you create and tell your own story as a legacy of the Clarkson community.
