Nojan Bagheri-Sadeghi was selected to receive the MAE Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. During his time at Clarkson, he has taught four courses for the department and has served as a teaching assistant multiple times. Students say that “Dr. Sadeghi is genuinely a fantastic professor for how young he is. He is clearly very knowledgeable about the subject.” and that “He was very receptive to questions and helpful during office hours and explained the topics in a way that was easy to understand during class.”

Janith Wanni won the MAE Excellence in Graduate Research Award. The Awards Committee shared the following testimony from his nomination letters, “Janith Wanni has published multiple journal articles. According to his nominator Dr. Ajit Achuthan, ‘Janith is a gifted experimentalist and is an expert of nanoindentation testing systems. Janith had original research ideas and already came up with a new theory that will be a great contribution to the research community.'”

Both students received a $200 cash award which is funded through donations from the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering faculty to the Sung P. Lin Endowment fund.
