Doctor of Physical Therapy Program seeking volunteers with temporomandibular pain for Zoom session with DPT students 12/3/21.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is seeking people with temporomandibular (jaw) pain to work with the DPT students on Zoom on Wednesday, December 8th, 9:00-10:30 am.  The session will include:

·       An interview regarding the history and symptoms of your jaw pain, as well as any headaches you may experience (about 30 minutes)

·       Some telemedicine-format physical tests (for example: looking at your posture, watching the movement of your jaw as you open, having you report about whether you feel clicking in the joint, having you bite down on something and report any discomfort, etc.) (about 30 minutes)

·       Students providing you with information about possible contributing factors and general TMJ self-care strategies. Everyone will also be emailed a TMJ self-care handout after the event. (about 15 minutes)

If you experience TMJ pain and are interested and available at that time, please contact Prof. Leslie Russek, PT, PhD, at Lrussek@clarkson.edu, who will be supervising students during this activity.
