The Office of Information Technology (OIT) announces plans to upgrade Moodle from version 3.9 to 3.11 on December 21, 2021. The upgrade impacts all users of Moodle, including students, instructors, and staff.
Moodle 3.11 upgrade is scheduled on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, 7:00 A.M. EST – 3:00 P.M. EST. Users should anticipate Moodle will be unavailable during this time. For latest status, go to https://status.clarkson.edu/ or click subscribe to receive updates.
Moodle 3.11 upgrade Highlights:
- Font weights and item spacing on the course page adjusted.
- From the Dashboard, search field will change to magnifying glass search icon. Click icon to expand for search field to appear.
- In Activities, expanded Activity Completion features:
- Students: Open and Due Dates available on Activity Page.
- Instructors: Additional options for showing Activity Dates on Course Page and enabling students to Mark Done in Activity Completion settings.
- In Assignment activity, Feedback Options will have ‘Online pdf annotator’ on by default.
- Introducing New Activity:
- Board: a virtual collaboration activity. This plugin allows course participants to collaborate by adding ‘notes’ to a column on a board. More about this new activity.
- Introducing ‘Download Instructor Files’ function:
- This local module allows a teacher to download all files uploaded by teachers to a given course in Moodle. The module adds a “Download instructor files” link to the Course administration navigation block.
