Will present a talk titled:
Computational Fluid Dynamics: Applications in Motorsports
Abstract: This presentation will give an overview of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and its applications in the motorsports industry. Exploring how CFD is used within the aerodynamics group at GM Motorsports for its NASCAR program, this presentation will cover the foundationsof CFD and delve intohow CFD aids the design and development of racecars. Using a case study, the complete design cycle will be deconstructed from a blank sheet to CAD design, CFD analysis, rapid prototyping, wind tunnel development, and finally the completed part that makes it on the racecar.
