What if I have items that I no longer want?
Any items left in the room after your building is closed by University officials will be removed and thrown out. You can also use the Take it or Leave it Tents.

Take It or Leave It Tents

This year the Take it or Leave it Program will run from May 5th to May 14th. There will be little tents set up by each residence hall building (starting at the dorms and then moving to the apartments later during finals week). The large tent will be set up on the southlawn of the ERC where donations can be brought to as well.

Here is a list of acceptable items that can be donated:

  • Textiles (high quality – dry and clean), able to be re-used
  • Textiles for recycling
  • Appliances/electronics (hair dryers, microwaves, irons, phones, printers, computers, etc.) that are in working order for donation
  • Furniture (good condition, not broken and no pillows)
  • Food (non-perishable, unopened)
  • Office supplies
  • Household goods (no glass)
  • Electronic waste for recycling (MUST be labeled)

In addition to encouraging participation by donating, we also could use volunteers for this event. Volunteers will be helping at the big tent during the 2 hour time slots. Students, faculty or staff can sign up using this link.

Good luck on finals and enjoy the last two weeks in Potsdam!
