Clarkson University Bestows Stub Baker 1927 Service Award on Alumni

Craig A. Rose ‘07 has received the Stub Baker 1927 Service Award from his alma mater, Clarkson University.

This award gives recognition of special services by non-alumni and/or alumni who show exemplary service and commitment to Clarkson and the objectives of the Alumni Association. It can also recognize exemplary alumni service to Clarkson in areas where there is no chapter, national service, for example, Alumni E-Board.

Craig A. Rose received his Associate of Science in Engineering Science from Jamestown Community College in 2005 and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in 2007.  

He works as a project engineer for Taylor Company in Rockton, Illinois. At Taylor, Craig primarily works in the Freezer Division, implementing product improvements and sustainability measures to support Taylor’s full line of commercial food service equipment that produces soft-serve ice cream, milkshakes and smoothies and frozen carbonated beverage equipment for restaurants around the world. Craig has also worked as an engineer in the ultrasonic cleaning, material handling, robotics and power transmission industries.

Craig serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Learning Center, a nonprofit childcare center where his sons attend school. In his free time, Craig enjoys traveling to sporting events, primarily professional baseball games and Clarkson hockey games. When not attending sporting events, Craig also enjoys building LEGO models with his son and creating woodworking projects in his workshop.

He is a Legion, Loyal and Legacy donor in Clarkson’s Good Knights Guild and is very active with the Alumni Council, serving as president of the Chicago chapter. Craig hosts and attends many Clarkson events. As an avid hockey fan, Craig travels to watch Clarkson’s men’s and women’s hockey teams play. He has made trips to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Michigan, Lindenwood University and University of Notre Dame, as well as the two women’s national championship victories in St. Louis and Minneapolis.

Craig and his wife, Melissa ‘09, reside in Dekalb, Illinois, with their two sons, Colby (6) and Cooper (2). Of the five games Craig’s oldest son has attended, the Golden Knights had an undefeated record, scoring 16 goals, recording three shutouts and winning two national championships.
