Last Weekend’s Open House – THANK YOU!

Colleagues,

Clarkson University welcomed more than 250 prospective students and their families to campus this past Saturday for our November Open House program. That was on top of 22 prospects who visited with us on the previous Friday.

THANK YOU to the many people who made the weekend event such a success — from tour guides to support staff to faculty and to the so many others whose contributions might not have been as visible that day, but were critical to making this event welcoming to our future students and their families.

All indications from a post-survey are that they enjoyed a wide-ranging agenda which included information sessions, activities, demonstrations and tours of our facilities. Given this was my first Open House to partake in, I was impressed to see such a tremendous undertaking – with many moving parts, executed as well as it was.

The restoration of our visit numbers to that of what they were prior to COVID-19 is incredibly important to restoring the incoming classes to where they should be. Part of the downturn we saw last year was due to fewer visitors to campus due to COVID-19. Given our location, Clarkson is more-reliant than others on getting prospective students here. Once they do, our likelihood of enrolling that student increases dramatically.

Prior to the Thanksgiving break, I’ll provide for you our first recruitment update of the year, how our  large scale events like Open House fit into our recruitment strategy, and why it’s so important that we as a campus let Clarkson shine in all that we do.

Best always,

Brian
