Princeton Review: Clarkson University One of Nation’s Best Colleges & Best Northeastern Colleges

[Potsdam, NY—August 7, 2018] Clarkson University has again been named one of the country’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to the Princeton Review.

The company features Clarkson in the newest edition of its college guide, The Best 384 Colleges. Clarkson has also been named one of the Best Northeastern Colleges by Princeton Review, which identifies some of the colleges and universities that they feel are academically outstanding and well worth consideration within each region.

“Clarkson University is a school known for its rigorous academics, research, and entrepreneurial spirit. This designation only reinforces that the things we value and work toward are being recognized by the students in our campus community,” President Anthony Collins said.

The Princeton Review survey asked students from across the country to rate their schools on dozens of topics and report their experiences.

In its profile on Clarkson, the Princeton Review quotes students who say the school is known for sending  “career-ready, hardworking and determined students out into the workforce.” Students mention “its excellent job placement rate” and “the large number of internship opportunities that Clarkson’s connections bring.” They also note that “Everyone wants you to succeed and provides the resources for you to do so.”

Last fall, the Princeton Review named Clarkson in their Colleges That Pay You Back guide. They were also named one of the most environmentally responsible “green” colleges in the United States and Canada through the inclusion in the Princeton Review’s Guide to 375 Green Colleges.

The Sierra Club also named Clarkson one of their Cool Schools for 2017 in terms of sustainability.

Of students graduating in Clarkson’s Class of 2017 and using the campus Career Services Center, 95 percent reported being placed in their field of study in the first year after graduation.

One of The Princeton Review’s most popular guides, the Best 384 Colleges rankings are based on surveys of 138,000 students at 384 top colleges that includes a wide representation by region, size, selectivity, and character. Published annually since 1992, the book has detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores in eight categories as well as ranking lists of top 20 schools in 62 categories.

Clarkson University educates the leaders of the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as an owner, CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. With its main campus located in Potsdam, N.Y., and additional graduate program and research facilities in the New York Capital Region, Beacon, New York and New York City, Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university with signature areas of academic excellence and research directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through more than 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, education, sciences and the health professions, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations, and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and innovation with enterprise.
