ALBANY, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced a multi-year deal with ESPN to showcase nearly 180 additional men’s and women’s games on ESPN+, a premium direct-to-consumer video service, beginning in the 2018-19 season. The agreement features all regular and post-season home games for ECAC Hockey members CLARKSON, Colgate, Quinnipiac, St. Lawrence, and Union. Fans who subscribe to ESPN+ will also have the opportunity to watch home games of six other ECAC Hockey members, per ESPN’s previously announced deal with the Ivy League, resulting in more than 350 games each season.
This collaboration will allow ECAC Hockey fans to watch hundreds of regular-season contests, as well as every tournament game on the same service, via the ESPN App, essentially providing a “one-stop shop” for all league contests. In April of 2018, the Ivy League, which includes ECAC Hockey members Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, announced a 10-year partnership with ESPN which includes the streaming of ice hockey games.
Along with the ECAC Hockey content, fans will also gain access to a variety of live events through ESPN+, including MLB, NHL, and MLS games, additional college sports, professional tennis, golf, boxing, rugby, and more. The $4.99 monthly cost will also give subscribers access to additional ESPN programming, including highlights, fantasy shows, the entire 30 for 30 library, and more.
International ECAC Hockey fans will also have access via the league’s agreement with Stretch Internet, which places all home games for Clarkson, Colgate, Quinnipiac, St. Lawrence, and Union on the Stretch platform. In addition, the six members of the Ivy League are on the same platform, allowing fans to view home games for 11 ECAC Hockey members on one streaming platform. Fans can access single games for $2.99, or secure a month-long subscription for $4.99.
