This announcement is in reference to Spring 2018 course enrollment. If you are returning this spring, start preparing for enrollment now! The class schedule has now been published.
The Spring 2018 enrollment period is November 7-16; Advising week is October 29- November 2, although you may meet with your academic advisor at any time.
Steps you can take to prepare for enrollment:
- Contact your academic advisor to set up an advising appointment (your advisor must remove your advising hold before you can enroll!).
- Review your Advisement Report in PeopleSoft to find out what courses you still need to take.
- Make note of your Enrollment Appointment* in PeopleSoft – this is the day and time that you will be able to enroll in classes.
- Plan your class schedule by finding courses you want to take, and saving them in your Shopping Cart.
- Resolve any holds you may have on your account.
- Students who are planning to go on Co-op or Study Abroad are still encouraged to enroll in classes now in order to secure a seat in required courses, in case your plans change.
Enrollment Shopping Cart
Use the enrollment shopping cart to plan your schedule. Select courses you’re interested in taking, and save them in your shopping cart – quickly move through the enrollment process once your appointment opens by enrolling directly from your shopping cart! You can also use the shopping cart validation tool to make sure you won’t run into any unexpected errors during the enrollment process. Watch this video for information on how to validate the courses in your shopping cart.
Knowledge Area and Communication Point Courses
Use the class search filters in PeopleSoft to find courses that meet specific requirements like Knowledge Area. Alternatively, a comprehensive list of Knowledge Area and Communication Point courses is listed on the SAS website. If you don’t know what Knowledge Area courses you need to take, contact your Academic Advisor!
If you are having difficulties logging into PeopleSoft, contact the OIT Helpdesk at 315-268-HELP, or visit the min CAMP 171A.
Summer Classes
If you plan to take classes at Clarkson this summer, contact your SAS Rep (sas@clarkson.edu). Your SAS Rep must activate your account for summer before you can enroll. If you are planning to take classes elsewhere this summer, fill out an Off Campus Permission Form (instructions on page 2).
*Enrollment appointments are assigned based on projected classification. Therefore, rising Seniors enroll first, followed by rising Juniors, and so on. Credit hours required for each classification are listed in the Regulations (section III). Enrollment appointments are not changed once assigned, and span the period of time from 11/7/18 to 11/14/18. Please contact the Registrar’s office with questions (registrar@clarkson.edu).
