As an integral part of filling critical roles within the Office of the Provost, the President and Academic Leadership Cabinet members are pleased to announce the promotion of Catherine Avadikian to Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising Operations and Resources.
With over 35 years of experience and service to Clarkson, Cathy will provide University-level undergraduate academic advising resources and training opportunities to faculty and professional staff advisors. Services will be scaled to the need of each academic advising unit toward goals of equal access and equitable advising services to current and prospective students. Cathy will continue to lead advisement of University Studies students, partner with the Student Success Center focusing on first-year student retention initiatives, and transition pre-health advising responsibilities to the forthcoming Advising Specialist Appointee.
Prior to her current role, Cathy served in several professional roles: 15 years in Engineering & Management supplemented by 17 cumulative years working with first and second year advising, disability services, retention initiatives, student outreach, career counseling, and student recruitment.
