3rd Annual Research and Project Showcase (RAPS)
Saturday, April 13, 2019
[Bertrand H. Snell Hall and Cheel Campus Center]
All students at Clarkson University are invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Research and Project Showcase (RAPS). RAPS provides both undergraduate and graduate students a forum for presentations of research and academic projects, or other educational activities such as internships, co-ops and study abroad experiences. The goal is to celebrate all forms of scholarship from all disciplines across campus and to provide an opportunity for a broad audience to appreciate work by Clarkson’s students.
*Presentations may be given orally (12-15 minutes) or in a combined poster session (90 minutes). The event is scheduled for 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM, with check-in starting at 7:00 AM. Participants are expected to attend the entire day, including presentations, lunch, and closing awards reception with President Tony Collins.
Online registrations including abstracts are due by Friday, March 15 at 3:30 PM.

Additional Information:
Awards
There are awards for the best oral presentation in each session and the best posters in each category, as decided by judges. There is also a grand prize for the best poster as selected by the audience. Additionally, there will be awards for the best posters in sustainability (see below).
Best Poster in Sustainability
The Institute for a Sustainable Environment will acknowledge student research that can be applied to sustainability principles or practices.
Projects from all disciplines are eligible for this opportunity. The First Place award-winning poster and a few Honorable Mentions will be selected based on the evidence that the research results could lead to advances in aspects of environmental, social or economic sustainability within the system that is studied. Example projects could include anything from higher efficiency renewable energy resources to modifying pro-environmental behavior.
To participate in the award opportunity, your abstract and poster must have a section explicitly describing the relationship between the outcomes of your research and eventual application to improve sustainability. Both basic discovery-based research and applied projects are welcome. For questions and concerns, please email Susan Powers, ISE (sep@clarkson.edu).
