Fulbright Canada Awards for US Scholars- 2020/2021

Fulbright Canada. The 2020-2021 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is accepting applications from academics and professionals through September 16th, 2019. This includes engineering, medical, arts & science, and business disciplines. 

Our grants support research with colleagues at institutions across Canada. Please note that it is possible to apply to multiple Awards.

There is also a series of Distinguished Chairs (6 Awards) offered by Carleton University in Ottawa in the following topics:

  • Interface between humans and technology
  • Community Music
  • Journalism and Communication
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Climate and Energy
  • Environmental Science

Eligibility for these awards, require the candidate to meet these minimum requirements:

Be U.S. citizen (Permanent residence is not sufficient).Hold a PhD (except for the Business Chair) or equivalent professional/terminal degree as appropriate. Be proficient in English.Comply with all governmental regulations regarding visas, immigration, travel and residency.Application deadline:Sept, 16 2019Detailed Eligibility requirements are available here.The application portal is available here

P.S. Did know that: 

1- if you are interested in hosting a Canadian graduate student for 9 months for 2020/2021 they can apply to the Fulbright Student Award (US$15 thousand) for doing research in the USA. See more info here.

2- If you are supervising a graduate student (US Citizen) that wants to conduct research in Canada for 9 months, they are also eligible for the same benefit. They can find more info here.
