Items Observed in Previous OFPC Inspections:

  • Inappropriate use of powerstrips and extension cords.
    • Powerstrips and extension cords must be plugged directly into an electrical outlet, they cannot be combined in any way (no daisychaining).
    • Extension cords are for temporary use only, they cannot be used as a permanent power source
  • Items such as microwaves, refrigerators and heaters must be plugged directly into an electrical outlet, they cannot be plugged into a powerstrip or extension cord.
  • Inappropriate storage of combustibles.
    • There can be no combustibles stored within 24 inches of the ceiling.
  • Fire doors must be able to properly close and latch without assistance. If a door is not closing (or opening) properly, submit a work order to have Facilities & Service evaluate.
