Clarkson University’s Graduate Student Association (GSA) is thrilled to announce a group skiing event for grad students on February 22nd. Prepare for a day filled with plenty of fun and adventures! We will be hosting the event at Dry Hill Ski Area in Watertown, NY.Link: http://skidryhill.com/
GSA is sponsoring part of the skiing expenses, as well as light snacks and transportation to/from the skiing facility to Clarkson University’s main campus. All of the equipment for skiing will be provided. Please note that you are not allowed to bring your personal skiing equipment nor your own vehicle for the trip. We also request-for your own comfort and safety-that you wear warm, waterproof winter apparel.
Mandatory skiing lessons will be provided by the experts at the skiing facility for approximately two hours prior to the group skiing activity. Even if you are a pro skier, you need to attend the full skiing lesson. Apologies, but no exceptions can be made on this matter.
Necessary expenses include:
- $25 per person (total cost of a ticket is $40, but GSA is compensating $15)
- Food costs (around $10 per person per meal). Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian hot/cold food options will be available in the facility cafeteria.
The itinerary of the event is as follows:
- Departureat 8:00 am fromParking Lot 13 (behind TAC)of Clarkson University’s main campus; we will be utilizing a school bus. Please don’t be late!
- 9:45 am estimated arrival time at resort
- 10:00 am distribution of skiing equipment
- 10:30 am skiing lessons
- 12:30 – 1:30 pm lunch break
- 2:00 pm group skiing activity
- 5:15 pm return journey
- 7:00 pm estimated arrival time at Clarkson
Please understand that seats are limited and only available on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, if you are interested in attending, reserve your seat by providing exactly $25 in cash (we are unable to provide change) at the International Center on Clarkson’s main campus during the following dates/times, where you will also sign an activity waiver form:Monday, February 17th between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pmTuesday, February 18th between 12:00 pm and 12:40 pm
