Budget Managers / Student Supervisors – Federal Work-Study Update
- As of May 9th, federal work-study funds allotted to the University will be fully expended.
- If you have students working for you remotely, you can continue to pay them federal work-study through the pay period ending May 16th. Any timecards for students after May 16th will need to be charged to university student wages. Fiscal year 2021 federal work-study will be available beginning with the pay period ending July 11th.
- Students who had been working in your area and were unable to work remotely, were being paid through federal work-study COVID-19 exception, will receive half of their standard work schedule for the pay period ending May 16th. At that point, the federal work-study COVID-19 exception will be complete.
- Students working remotely and being paid through university student wages or a research project/grant are not affected by this announcement.
- Effective immediately, FY20 federal work-study budgets will be adjusted to actual expenses. Organizations that have students working remotely being paid against federal work-study will be provided the budget amount needed to cover actual expenses through the pay period ending May 16th.
