Last month, the Provost’s Office and the Teaching & Learning Corner announced the launch of RISE: Reframing Instruction for Success Everywhere – an online course design and delivery workshop experience for Clarkson educators happening this Spring and Summer 2020. The RISE training initiative is Clarkson’s most inclusive professional development opportunity designed to prepare Clarkson faculty for the opportunity to teach online. Learn more about RISE.
RISE Cohort I Underway: All Clarkson faculty scheduled to teach Summer or Summer Quarter 2020 term were enrolled into RISE Cohort 1 which kicked off on April 27th. Nearly 40 RISE participants are endeavoring to complete, and facilitators wish to call special recognition to those meeting the challenges presented at this unique time. RISE participants are now well into Module 2 and will be cruising to completion in just a few short weeks. Let’s go tech!
RISE Cohort II and III Enrollment is now OPEN!! All faculty preparing to teach Fall 2020 will be enrolled to complete one of two upcoming RISE workshops. Choose your preferred RISE Cohort start date no later than May 15, 2020. Workshop confirmations to follow. Interest in RISE is strong, and space is limited. Exemptions from RISE training are available to RISE alums and those who have earned a QM certification on at least one of your courses. Contact tlc@clarkson.edu with questions.
The RISE workshop is a key element in the preparation for a successful return in Fall 2020. In anticipation of meeting unknown needs, the time to take advantage of this training opportunity is now. Workshop completion will be requisite for teaching online or blended at Clarkson moving forward. Completion will be recorded in the Peoplesoft HR training record. Certificates of completion will be issued. Contact Provost Hannigan with questions.
