RESTART-Resumption of Research Phase 2 Planning Beginning

Colleagues,
As you may be aware, the campus is beginning the planning for the resumption of our on-campus research.  To restate the announcement, this “will be phased, deliberate, and guided by public health advisories, and will require detailed pre-return planning on the part of everyone involved.”

We have developed and tested a process for the safe resumption of on-campus research.  At this time, we are asking all principal investigators who manage on-campus labs, facilities, and centers to provide a resumption plan and personnel list and to submit your resumption plan for approval via a web questionnaire found within the Resumption of Research Toolkit. The web form will include additional questions to inform and prioritize the overall resumption plan.  Research that does not require university facilities or equipment will not be permitted on our campuses until they fully reopen. If you require access to campus facilities or resources, we are now asking you to complete the Research Resumption Plan Questionnaire and Research Personnel Template toward a staged return process, with the next stage being defined as “Low Density.”  As previously communicated, we will be working closely with Human Resources and EH&S as well as the deans, associate deans of research, and center directors.

Thank you,
Michelle Crimi and Shannon Robinson
