**This email went to TCS Students and families***
Dear TCS Class of 2020 students and families,
We hope this email finds you well and enjoying your summer! We are writing to you today with updated information about celebrating your accomplishments at the 2020 TCS commencement.
Although we were looking forward to an in-person ceremony, we have decided it is necessary to move to a virtual ceremony this year. We will hold the TCS virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am. More information will be coming as we make plans to celebrate TCS Class of 2020!
There were several factors that led us to make this decision. The most pressing factor is the start date for the Fall semester at Clarkson University has been moved forward to August 19th. In consideration of everyone’s health and well-being, we are hesitant to bring you and your family onto campus after students have arrived for the semester. In addition, we were concerned about asking parents/guardians to drop off students returning to Clarkson earlier in the week for move-in and then needing to return for commencement. We are also considering students who are continuing at other universities or other pathways who would be unable to attend due to adjusted start dates and/or requirements to self-isolate or quarantine.
We are well-underway with formal planning for the virtual commencement! We will send more information to you mid-July about how to participate in the virtual ceremony.
Next week, we will send you an RSVP so you can indicate how many people from your family plan to attend the virtual ceremony. In addition, watch your mail! We are sending each student a package that includes a tshirt, yearbook, and the “Letter to your Future Self” that you wrote at the beginning of the year. Closer to the Virtual Commencement Ceremony, we will send your tassel and certificate of completion.
We look forward to celebrating your achievements this past year at The Clarkson School!
Sincerely,Jen (on behalf of the TCS team)
