False Confessions & Flawed Interrogations: Presentation by Huwe Burton
TONIGHT, Thursday, October 8, 5:30-6:30pm
In 1991, Huwe Burton was wrongfully convicted and spent 19 years in prison for a crime he did not commit before he was released on parole in 2009. In 2019, Mr. Burton was exonerated after a judge determined he was coerced into falsely confessing to murdering his mother when he was just 16 years old. This presentation and Q&A take you through Mr. Burton’s personal experience and are designed to both educate and open a dialogue about the future of the criminal justice system.
Spots are limited; register to attend at bit.ly/huweburton.
This event is sponsored by the Clarkson University Office of Student Life & Chief Inclusion Office.
