Sunday Evening Update on Positive COVID-19 Cases

Potsdam Campus Community,

We want to again thank everyone for working together this weekend while St. Lawrence County Public Health responded to three positive cases of COVID-19 identified Friday evening on our campus.  We have had no more positive COVID-19 tests results returned.

Please come together to wish our three positive cases a good recovery.  And also as importantly, please be considerate and accommodating of the 78 members of our campus community who are in a status of isolation, quarantine and precautionary quarantine based on contact tracing and local public health following the NYS guidelines.  The health and safety of everyone in our campus community is our highest priority and these steps are important towards stopping the spread of the virus as well as the prevention steps we have been posting.

Students should use these links for the daily Student Health Screening form, and employees can go to https://intranet.clarkson.edu/administrative/hr/employee-health-screenings/ .  These are both ‘quick links’ from the Clarkson intranet page.

We need everyone to not go to class or participate in campus activities if you have a fever of 100.4* or greater, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.  If these symptoms occur, please contact Campus Safety at 315-268-6666, and a staff member there will connect you 24/7 with the appropriate resource for evaluation and testing.

Please follow the health and safety protocols to wear a mask over the nose and mouth; practice social distancing; practice good personal hygiene and again, and act any signs of COVID-19 as noted above.

If you have questions about the information above, please contact deanofstudents@clarkson.edu.  As plans are now underway for the Spring Semester, your feedback on Fall plans and future input can be sent to community@clarkson.edu to be further shared with the Restart Teams.

Thank you.
