Did you know that October is Fire Safety Awareness Month?
To help keep our students safe, fire safety education and awareness is provided through multiple avenues at Clarkson University including residential fire safety brochures, checklists, training, mock dorm burns, and room inspections. It is critical that all students understand the importance of fire safety and what role they play in maintaining a safe and compliant living and learning environment at Clarkson University.
Although we were not able to provide hands-on fire extinguisher training this year due to the pandemic, we are requiring that all first year students, students residing in a University apartment (Riverside, Townhouses, Woodstock Village and Westons) or theme house and students associated with Greek Life complete the brief Student Fire Safety Training Fall 2020 course in Moodle. We are asking that you log into Moodle and complete the required training by the end of the semester.
Although October is Fire Safety Awareness month, please remember to practice fire safety all year and stay safe by following the rules and regulations for campus housing. If you have any fire safety questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our Fire & Life Safety Specialist, Brian Moulton, at blmoulto@clarkson.edu.
